Is Your Goal Still Aligned With Your Purpose?

Hi Reader,

This week, my spirit team wanted me to expand on last week’s article and share how you can set out with a goal perfectly aligned to your purpose yet slowly end up out of alignment along the way.

(If you missed last week’s email I covered how being out of alignment with your incarnation plan or purpose can block your goals. You can read that here.)

Here’s how that happens: You set a goal and create a plan to achieve it. As you work through the plan, the individual steps gradually become your focus. Before long, completing those steps can become the goal itself. And that goal may not be aligned to your purpose.

Then, the frustration sets in. You think you’re on the right path, so you can't figure out why things feel stuck or exhausting. In reality, you’ve pivoted without realizing it.

Worse yet, it can pull you in a direction you don't even enjoy. Now you’re pouring energy into the wrong destination and feeling miserable doing it.

Before we dive into how to stop this from happening, let’s look at an analogy they gave me.

Imagine going on a long car trip and never looking at directions after the first five minutes. You could end up somewhere you don’t want to be, or it could take twice as long or get stuck in bad traffic. But when you keep your GPS active and check in along the route, you get where you want to go in a way that feels right for you.

How to Stay on Course:

These are the tips my guides shared:

  1. Set regular check points. Your goal should have milestones to make sure you are on target. Use these check points to also ensure that your focus hasn’t changed and that you still want your goal.
  2. Notice when nothing seems to work. This is often a sign you have moved off your purpose – especially if at the start it was working or at least making progress.
  3. Watch your joy levels. Working towards a goal aligned with your purpose won't always be effortless, but it shouldn't feel constantly draining. If all the joy has vanished, pause and check if your goal accidentally changed.

A Quick Journaling Practice for Goal Alignment to Purpose

Use these prompts to check in with yourself:

  • What is my purpose? (If you’re still discovering yours, simply write: "To gain clarity on my purpose.")
  • What specific goal am I working on?
  • What was my original plan for achieving this?
  • Have any of the actions from my plan taken over as the primary goal?
  • Do I need to pivot back to the original goal and replan it?

If you go through these prompts and find that your goal hasn't shifted, you might be dealing with other spiritual blocks (you can check out last week’s article for other possibilities). Or you may simply need to build trust in the divine timeline.

This week’s Reiki video is about building patience and accepting divine timing. The link is below!

text that says "let go".

Hi Reader, It isn't where you came from. It's where you're going that counts. - Ella Fitzgerald The past doesn’t dictate where you go - unless you let it. But it is very easy to fall into patterns. And at the same time assume if you have already tried it, it doesn’t work. But here is the thing, we are different people every day. The world is a different place every day. Every action you take. Every experience you have shapes you. At the same time this happens to you, it is happening to...

Hi Reader, This week has been fulll of ups and downs for me. The type where I have to stop and ask - this this really what I want? How do I feel about this? Not only because of the intensity that is in our world right now, but from the astrology happenings (which have been big) and all that added to just regular life. But, I am able to manage the ups and downs because I have spent over a decade working on emotional healing, spiritual growth and understanding myself. These have allowed me to...

It's the journey not the destination

Hi Reader, it's me showing up in your inbox on Thursday and not Sunday. Why? Because my spirit team and I wanted to adjust how we are sharing spiritual lessons with you. For a couple months now, something felt off. With the help of my team, I realized that while weekly energies are important to know, many of the lessons my team and I were sharing are helpful anytime. We all experience life differently and are at different phases of our life. So, a lesson for this week might be great for one...
